LS Lowry Signed and Unsigned Limited Edition Prints (1887 - 1976)
Laurence Stephen Lowry was born in Rusholme, Manchester in 1887. He is undoubtedly the most celebrated British Artist of the 20 th century. Famous for his industrial northern scenes along with his matchstick men, he attended private lessons held by William Fitz and was also tutored by Adolphe Valette.
His original works of art are highly sought after along with his signed limited editions. In 1991 the player's football association paid a record price of £1.9 million for his painting titled “Going to the Match”. He died in February 1976.
