Cecil J Thornton
Cecil J Thornton was born in Narborough, Leicestershire where he chose to live for most of his life. He studied at the college of art there, where his teachers includied Ralph Middleton and Herbert Hennes.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists. Internationally he was recognised and respected, a holder of the coveted Gold Medal of the Paris Salon and winner of the following prestigious awards.
